Abstract

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and is associated with lipid metabolism disorders and systemic inflammation. Therefore, analyzing the relationship between lipid profiles and inflammatory markers is important for supporting cardiovascular risk monitoring in patients enrolled in the Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) with hypertension. This study aimed to analyze the correlation of High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) levels with high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP) levels. An observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 30 hypertensive patients enrolled in Prolanis. HDL and LDL levels were measured using the Homogeneous Enzymatic Colorimetric method, while Hs-CRP levels were measured using the Fluorescence Immunoassay (FIA) method. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed mean HDL, LDL, and Hs-CRP levels of 35.9 mg/dL, 109.9 mg/dL, and 2.6 mg/L, respectively. No significant correlation was found between HDL and Hs-CRP (r = 0.126; p = 0.507) or between LDL and Hs-CRP (r = 0.055; p = 0.771). In conclusion, HDL and LDL levels were not significantly correlated with Hs-CRP levels in the study participants. These findings suggest that the relationship between lipid profiles and inflammation warrants further investigation, considering other clinical factors.
