PENGARUH KONSELING KEDAMAIAN TERHADAP PERILAKU MEROKOK SISWA SMKN

ABSTRACT
Smoking behavior among adolescents remains a serious health problem in Indonesia, particularly among vocational high school students who are highly vulnerable to risky behaviors. Preliminary data at SMKN 5 Makassar showed that 78.67% of students were in the moderate to very high smoking behavior category. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of peace counseling in reducing students’ smoking behavior. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 14 students selected through proportional purposive sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a smoking behavior scale and analyzed through descriptive statistics and Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant decrease in smoking behavior scores from 105.14 to 84.00, while the control group showed no meaningful change. Statistical testing revealed a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating that peace counseling was effective in reducing students’ smoking behavior. Therefore, peace counseling can serve as an alternative humanistic counseling intervention in schools.

Perilaku merokok pada remaja masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan yang serius di Indonesia, termasuk pada siswa SMKN 5 Makassar yang menunjukkan tingkat perilaku merokok kategori sedang hingga sangat tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas konseling kedamaian dalam mereduksi perilaku merokok siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi-eksperimental pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 14 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportional purposive sampling dan dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen serta kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala perilaku merokok, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan melalui statistik deskriptif dan Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami penurunan skor perilaku merokok dari kategori tinggi menjadi sedang, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak menunjukkan perubahan berarti. Hasil uji hipotesis memperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 (<0,05), sehingga konseling kedamaian terbukti efektif dalam mereduksi perilaku merokok siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan layanan bimbingan dan konseling berbasis nilai kemanusiaan di sekolah.
