HUBUNGAN SELF-EFFICACY DAN WORK LIFE BALANCE PADA TENAGA KEPENDIDIKAN DI PERGURUAN TINGGI X

ABSTRACT
Work-life balance is an important factor that supports the psychological well-being and productivity of educational staff in carrying out administrative and academic service responsibilities in higher education institutions. One factor presumed to contribute to the achievement of work-life balance is self-efficacy, which refers to an individual's belief in their ability to complete tasks and cope with various work demands. This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and work-life balance among educational staff at University X. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 139 educational staff members, and 104 respondents participated in the study. Data were collected using Likert-scale instruments measuring self-efficacy and work-life balance and were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and work-life balance (r = 0.450, p = 0.000 < 0.05). These findings indicate that educational staff with higher levels of self-efficacy tend to be more capable of maintaining a balance between work demands and personal life. The study contributes to the development of occupational psychology and educational organization research by providing empirical evidence that self-efficacy functions as a personal resource that supports the achievement of work-life balance among educational staff. Furthermore, the findings may serve as a basis for higher education institutions in designing programs aimed at strengthening self-efficacy to enhance employee well-being and performance.
ABSTRAK
Work life balance merupakan aspek penting yang mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis, kepuasan kerja, dan produktivitas tenaga kependidikan dalam menjalankan tugas administratif maupun pelayanan akademik di perguruan tinggi. Kemampuan menjaga keseimbangan antara tuntutan pekerjaan dan kehidupan pribadi menjadi semakin penting karena tenaga kependidikan memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung kualitas layanan pendidikan tinggi. Salah satu faktor yang diduga berkontribusi terhadap tercapainya work life balance adalah self-efficacy, yaitu keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuannya dalam menyelesaikan tugas dan menghadapi berbagai tuntutan pekerjaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-efficacy dan work life balance pada tenaga kependidikan di Perguruan Tinggi X. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 139 tenaga kependidikan dengan sampel sebanyak 104 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportionate random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala Likert dan dianalisis melalui uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara self-efficacy dan work life balance dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,450 dan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi self-efficacy yang dimiliki tenaga kependidikan, semakin baik kemampuan mereka dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara kehidupan kerja dan kehidupan pribadi. Secara teoritis, hasil penelitian memperkuat kajian psikologi kerja mengenai peran keyakinan diri dalam mendukung penyesuaian individu terhadap berbagai tuntutan peran. Temuan ini juga dapat menjadi dasar bagi perguruan tinggi dalam merancang program penguatan self-efficacy guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan kinerja tenaga kependidikan.
