PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER DALAM KEBIASAAN: MERUMUSKAN MODEL STRATEGI PENDIDIKAN ADAPTIF UNTUK MENANGKAL BRAIN ROT DAN MENDUKUNG KETERLIBATAN KOGNITIF SISWA

ABSTRACT
The phenomenon of brain rot in the digital era has become a serious issue in education because it affects students’ concentration, critical thinking skills, cognitive engagement, and mental health due to excessive consumption of instant digital content. This study aims to formulate an adaptive educational strategy model based on character building through daily habits to prevent the phenomenon of brain rot and support students’ cognitive engagement. This research employed a library research method by analyzing various sources, including journals, books, scientific articles, and other supporting documents. The findings indicate that the main factors causing brain rot include excessive social media use, consumption of shallow digital entertainment, lack of quality mental stimulation, multitasking habits, sleep deprivation, and addiction to online games. The study also found that effective adaptive educational strategies include time management, positive habituation, replacing scrolling activities with productive activities, simple games, feedback methods, and strengthening students’ mindset and self-control. These strategies focus not only on academic aspects but also on character development, digital discipline, and the enhancement of students’ cognitive engagement in facing the challenges of the digital era.
ABSTRAK
Fenomena brain rot di era digital menjadi permasalahan serius dalam dunia pendidikan karena berdampak pada menurunnya kemampuan fokus, berpikir kritis, keterlibatan kognitif, dan kesehatan mental peserta didik akibat konsumsi konten digital instan secara berlebihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan model strategi pendidikan adaptif berbasis pembentukan karakter dalam kebiasaan sehari-hari guna menangkal fenomena brain rot dan mendukung keterlibatan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber pustaka berupa jurnal, buku, artikel ilmiah, dan dokumen pendukung lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor utama penyebab brain rot meliputi penggunaan media sosial berlebihan, konsumsi hiburan digital dangkal, kurangnya stimulasi mental, kebiasaan multitasking, kurang tidur, serta ketergantungan terhadap game online. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa strategi pendidikan adaptif yang efektif meliputi time management, pembiasaan positif, pengalihan aktivitas scrolling ke kegiatan produktif, permainan sederhana, metode feedback, serta penguatan pola pikir dan kontrol diri peserta didik. Strategi tersebut tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek akademik, tetapi juga pada penguatan karakter, disiplin digital, dan peningkatan keterlibatan kognitif siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital.
