Abstract

Early childhood education in Raudhatul Athfal (RA) demands optimal teacher psychological readiness to manage complex classroom interactions. However, psychometrically sound instruments specifically tailored for RA teachers in Indonesia remain scarce. This study aimed to adapt and examine preliminary psychometric evidence of the self-efficacy, resilience, and work engagement scales among RA teachers. The study involved 139 RA teachers in Bandung Regency recruited through purposive sampling. Content relevance was evaluated by four experts; 37 items received quantitative ratings, and one additional self-efficacy item was formulated based on qualitative expert recommendations. The 38-item dataset was analyzed in jamovi using exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and reliability estimation via Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega. The findings revealed that all scales demonstrated high internal consistency across total and dimensional scores. However, CFA yielded mixed goodness-of-fit results; while CFI, TLI, and SRMR indicated acceptable fit, RMSEA values reflected substantial approximation errors. The combined 38-item model also failed to achieve adequate fit due to high empirical overlap across dimensions in discriminant validity testing. Although a 23-item post hoc model exhibited improved fit indices, it cannot be considered definitive. These preliminary findings highlight the necessity of further scale refinement and independent sample replication prior to wide educational application.
