PENERAPAN METODE TWO STAY TWO STRAY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS IXC SMP N 1 PIYUNGAN

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the application of the Two Stay Two Stray method. (2) Knowing the increase in social studies learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan. This classroom action research used the Kemmis & Taggart design which was carried out in class IXC at SMP N 1 Piyungan Bantul in semester 2 of the 2021/2022 school year. The data obtained in this study are in the form of learning processes and learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used are observation and tests. Observation techniques are used to record data about the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray method. Tests are used to see student learning outcomes. This research was carried out in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two meetings. The data obtained were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive technique. The results showed that: (1) the application of the Two Stay Two Stray method was carried out very well. The implementation needs to pay attention to: giving rewards to students who get high learning achievement test scores, dividing discussion groups based on test results, clear division of tasks during the discussion process, the process of visiting other groups and in the presentation process. (2) There was an increase in the average score of the IXC class learning outcomes test from 77.50 in cycle I to 89.69 in cycle II. There was an increase in the percentage of students in class IXC who scored 78 or more, from 71.88% in cycle I to 87.50% in cycle II. Thus the application of the two stay two stray method can improve social studies learning outcomes for students in class IXC SMP N 1 Piyungan Bantul in the 2021/2022 academic year.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui penerapan metode Two Stay Two Stray. (2) Mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar IPS di SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini menggunakan desain Kemmis & Taggart yang dilaksanakan di kelas IXC SMP N 1 Piyungan Bantul pada semester 2 Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini berupa proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes. Teknik observasi digunakan untuk merekam data tentang pelaksanaan metode Two Stay Two Stray. Tes digunakan untuk melihat hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini terlaksana dalam dua siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penerapan metode Two Stay Two Stray terlaksana dengan Sangat Baik. Adapun pelaksanaannya perlu memperhatikan: pemberian reward bagi peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai tes hasil belajar tinggi, pembagian kelompok diskusi berdasar prestasi hasil tes, pembagian tugas yang jelas selama proses diskusi, proses bertamu ke kelompok lain dan dalam proses presentasi. (2) Terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata tes hasil belajar kelas IXC dari 77,50 pada siklus I menjadi 89,69 pada siklus II. Terjadi peningkatan persentase peserta didik di kelas IXC yang memperoleh nilai 78 atau lebih dari 71,88% pada siklus I menjadi 87,50% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian penerapan metode two stay two stray dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS peserta didik di kelas IXC SMP N 1 Piyungan Bantul Tahun Pelajaran 2021/ 2022.
