MENGHIDUPKAN TRADISI SHALAWAT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KESADARAN SPIRITUAL SANTRI RIYADHUL AWAMIL DALAM KEGIATAN PENGAJIAN

This study aims to examine the role of the shalawat recitation tradition in instilling the values of the Qur’an and Hadith at the Riyadhul Awamil Islamic Boarding School. The interest in exploring this topic arises from the uniqueness of the tradition practiced in the pesantren, particularly in the way the shalawat is performed. The recitation is not limited to the Mahallu Qiyam, but is also accompanied by verses in Sundanese and Javanese that contain moral messages, reminders, and lessons related to worship and religious life. These poetic verses function as a form of advice and reflection for the congregation. The main focus of this research is to analyze how the routine practice of shalawat recitation contributes to reviving and internalizing the values of the Qur’an and Hadith in the daily lives of the participants. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach to gain an in-depth understanding of how the concept of the Living Qur’an and Hadith is manifested through this tradition. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature review, including relevant journals and books that discuss similar themes. The research subjects consisted of students of the pesantren as well as female participants from the surrounding community. The findings indicate that the activity is conducted regularly once a week, specifically every Tuesday. The recitation is led by the pesantren leaders, known as Syaikhuna (Abi and Umi), and is fully supported by the pesantren administrators from the preparation stage until the completion of the event. The chanting of shalawat serves not only as a form of expressing love and reverence for the Prophet Muhammad, but also as a medium for delivering religious advice, strengthening Islamic brotherhood, and deepening spiritual awareness. Overall, the congregation responds positively to this activity and considers it an important means of enhancing religious understanding and seeking blessings in everyday life.
ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisisi bagaimana tradisi bersholawat dalam pengajian di Pondok Pesantren Riyadhul Awamil berperan dalam mengidupkan nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an dan Hadits.Alasan tertarik mengambil judul tentang teradisi bersholawat di Pondok Pesantren Riyadhul Awamil adalah karena tradisi ini sangat menarik yaitu dari segi cara membacanya. Shalawat yang dibacakan tidak hanya Mahallu Qiyam, tapi juga diselingi dengan syair-syair berbahasa Sunda dan Jawa yang berisi pelajaran dan pengingat dalam beribadah atau bisa disebut dengan pepeling. Fokus utama dari penelitian ini adalah menyelidiki peran kebiasaan bershalawat dalam kegiatan pengajian di Pondok Pesantren Riyadhul Awamil sebagai cara guna menghidupkan nilai Al-Qur’an dan Hadits dalam keseharian para jamaah pengajian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi untuk menganalisis secara mendalam bagaimana menghidupkan living Al-Qur’an dan Hadits melalui tradisi bersholawat dalam pengajian. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara serta kajian pustaka untuk mendapatkan data-data dari jurnal dan buku yang berkaitan dengan judul ini. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu (santriawati dan jamaah ibu-ibu). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara rutin setiap seminggu sekali yaitu pada hari selasa, Tradisi ini dipimpin oleh Syaikhuna (Abi dan Umi) dan didukung penuh oleh para pengurus pesantren dalam segala aspek dari persiapan sampai selesai. Lantunan Sholawat tidak hanya menjadi sarana pengagungan dan kecintaan kepada Nabi, tetapi juga berisi pelajaran dan pengingat dalam beribadah termasuk sholawat yang dituangkan melalui syair-syair berbahasa sunda dan jawa. Secara umum jamaah memberikan respon positif dan menganggap sholawat sebagai sarana penting dalam memperdalam ilmu agama dan memperkuat ukhwah islamiyah serta keberkahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
