MEDIA VIDEO PEMBELAJARAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PEMELIHARAAN SASIS DAN PEMINDAH TENAGA KENDARAAN RINGAN

Eleventh-grade Light Vehicle Engineering students at a private vocational secondary school in DKI Jakarta Province scored a mean of 68 on the midterm summative test in Chassis and Power Train Maintenance, whereas the class target was 85. Instruction relied on lectures, a whiteboard, and digital modules. This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through instructional video combined with demonstration. We conducted classroom action research following the Kemmis and McTaggart model in two cycles in September 2023 with 30 students. Cycle I covered the clutch system and Cycle II covered the manual transmission. Learning outcomes were measured with a 15-item multiple-choice test at the end of each cycle and analysed descriptively. The class mean rose from 83.63 in Cycle I to 91.37 in Cycle II. The number of students who met the learning objective criterion, a score of 78, increased from 19 (63.33%) to 26 (86.67%). The gain followed three revisions in Cycle II: added footage of component disassembly and inspection, rearranged seating, and prompting questions from the teacher. These results support automotive teachers' use of videos that show work steps on real components in procedural chassis and power train topics.
