ANTARA JARAK DAN TEKANAN: PENGARUH AKSESIBILITAS WILAYAH TERHADAP EMOSIONAL MAHASISWA KAMPUS PPG UIN JAKARTA

This study analyzes the influence of residential distance and regional accessibility on the emotional well-being of PPG students at UIN Jakarta. This research fills the gap in existing studies that have limited exploration of the relationship between accessibility and the emotional aspects of professional education students in urban environments. A qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews with four students who commute daily between 15 and 35 kilometers using various modes of transportation. Data collection was conducted using semi-structured interviews and analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings reveal that students who travel more than 30 km with journey times exceeding 60 minutes experience higher physical fatigue and emotional stress, which negatively affects their concentration and learning motivation. Commuting factors such as traffic congestion, pollution, and transport uncertainty further exacerbate students' emotional discomfort. However, students who manage their time well, listen to music during travel, and leave earlier demonstrate effective self-regulation strategies to reduce stress. These findings emphasize the importance of institutional support, such as campus shuttle services and flexible class schedules, in improving students' emotional well-being. This study provides new contributions to educational psychology, particularly regarding the emotional challenges faced by PPG students in metropolitan areas, and encourages campus policies that are more responsive to student mobility challenges.
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh jarak tempat tinggal dan aksesibilitas wilayah terhadap kesejahteraan emosional mahasiswa PPG UIN Jakarta. Penelitian ini mengisi gap penelitian yang terbatas dalam mengeksplorasi hubungan antara aksesibilitas wilayah dan aspek emosional mahasiswa pendidikan profesi di lingkungan urban. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap empat mahasiswa yang menempuh jarak harian antara 15 hingga 35 km dengan berbagai moda transportasi. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan secara semi-terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang menempuh jarak lebih dari 30 km dengan waktu perjalanan lebih dari 60 menit mengalami kelelahan fisik dan tekanan emosional yang lebih tinggi, yang berpengaruh pada penurunan konsentrasi dan motivasi belajar. Faktor perjalanan seperti kemacetan, polusi, dan ketidakpastian moda transportasi semakin memperburuk kondisi emosional mahasiswa. Namun, mahasiswa yang dapat mengelola waktu dengan baik, mendengarkan musik selama perjalanan, dan berangkat lebih awal menunjukkan regulasi diri yang efektif dalam mengurangi stres. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan institusional, seperti layanan antar jemput kampus dan fleksibilitas jadwal kuliah, untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan emosional mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi baru dalam psikologi pendidikan, khususnya mengenai tantangan emosional mahasiswa PPG di kawasan metropolitan, serta mendorong kebijakan kampus yang lebih responsif terhadap tantangan mobilitas mahasiswa.
