VALIDITAS KONSTRUK INSTRUMEN FEAR OF NEGATIVE EVALUATION DENGAN METODE CONFIRMATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS (CFA)

ABSTRACT

Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) is one of the factors associated with social anxiety during adolescence, highlighting the need for an assessment instrument that can accurately measure this construct within the Indonesian cultural context. This study aimed to obtain evidence of content validity and internal structure for the Indonesian version of The Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale II (BFNE-II) among vocational high school students. The adaptation process followed the guidelines of the International Test Commission (2017) through forward translation, translation synthesis, backward translation, and an equivalence assessment conducted by two experts. The study involved 245 students from SMK Negeri 1 Kota Malang, aged 15–19 years, selected using simple random sampling. Content validity was examined using Gregory’s inter-rater agreement index, while the internal structure was assessed through a one-factor Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using AMOS 23. The results showed a Gregory index of 1.00, while the CFA yielded an adequate model fit with CFI = 0.925, RMSEA = 0.076, and p < 0.001. All 12 items demonstrated positive and significant factor loadings with t > 1.96; therefore, no items were eliminated. These findings provide initial evidence of content validity and internal structure supporting a unidimensional model of the Indonesian BFNE-II among the students studied. Further research should examine reliability, convergent and discriminant validity, and measurement invariance across more diverse samples.

Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) menjadi salah satu aspek yang berkaitan dengan kecemasan sosial pada masa remaja, sehingga diperlukan instrumen yang mampu mengukur konstruk tersebut secara tepat dalam konteks budaya Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh bukti validitas isi dan struktur internal The Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale II (BFNE-II) versi bahasa Indonesia pada siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan. Proses adaptasi mengacu pada pedoman International Test Commission (2017) melalui tahapan forward translation, sintesis terjemahan, backward translation, dan penilaian kesepadanan oleh dua ahli. Penelitian melibatkan 245 siswa SMK Negeri 1 Kota Malang berusia 15–19 tahun yang dipilih melalui simple random sampling. Validitas isi dianalisis menggunakan indeks kesepakatan antarahli Gregory, sedangkan struktur internal diuji melalui Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) model satu faktor dengan AMOS 23. Hasil menunjukkan indeks Gregory sebesar 1,00, sedangkan CFA menghasilkan CFI = 0,925, RMSEA = 0,076, dan p < 0,001. Seluruh 12 butir menunjukkan muatan faktor positif dan signifikan dengan nilai t > 1,96 sehingga tidak terdapat butir yang dieliminasi. Temuan ini memberikan bukti awal mengenai kesepadanan isi dan struktur internal BFNE-II versi bahasa Indonesia yang mendukung model satu faktor pada siswa yang diteliti. Pengujian reliabilitas, validitas konvergen dan diskriminan, serta measurement invariance pada karakteristik sampel yang lebih beragam diperlukan pada penelitian berikutnya.
