Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has significantly reshaped learning environments, raising critical questions about how Islamic Religious Education (IRE) can remain relevant, meaningful, and effective in the digital era. While existing studies highlight the potential of educational technology, limited research has systematically examined how technology-based learning innovation transforms pedagogical practices and improves learning quality in IRE. This study aims to analyze innovative learning models and their contribution to enhancing the quality of Islamic Religious Education. Using a qualitative library research approach supported by reflective observation, this study synthesizes contemporary scholarship through the theoretical lenses of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK), social constructivism, and value-based Islamic education. The findings reveal that technology integration through learning management systems, interactive multimedia, gamification, and project-based digital learning significantly enhances student participation, comprehension, and engagement. More importantly, these innovations support the contextualization and internalization of Islamic values when applied within pedagogically meaningful frameworks. This study concludes that transforming IRE requires not merely technological adoption but pedagogical reorientation grounded in ethical and educational principles. It contributes to the field by offering a conceptual framework that links innovation models, pedagogical transformation, and learning quality, while providing practical insights for educators and institutions navigating digital-era challenges.
