The Dr. J. Leimena Corridor in Ambon City is one of the main routes with high pedestrian activity, primarily serving as the main access to Pattimura University. This condition makes the corridor significant for analysis through the walkability index to determine the level of pedestrian facility feasibility in the area. This study aims to measure the level of walking feasibility by calculating the walkability index based on aspects of comfort, safety, accessibility, and the physical condition of pedestrian pathways. The assessment was conducted using indicators aligned with pedestrian facility standards stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Housing No. 3 of 2014 and No. 07/P/BM/2023. The analysis results show that the walkability index of the Dr. J. Leimena Corridor falls into the moderate category, indicating that the pedestrian paths sufficiently support walking activities but do not yet fully meet ideal criteria. The most influential factors affecting the index score are sidewalk width, surface condition, and the presence of obstacles such as street vendors. These findings provide an overview of the pedestrian facility feasibility level along the Dr. J. Leimena Corridor and can serve as a basis for evaluating pedestrian infrastructure quality in educational areas of Ambon City.
ABSTRAK
Koridor Jalan Dr. J. Leimena di Kota Ambon merupakan salah satu jalur utama yang memiliki tingkat aktivitas pejalan kaki tinggi, terutama karena berfungsi sebagai akses utama menuju Universitas Pattimura. Kondisi ini menjadikan kawasan tersebut penting untuk dikaji melalui analisis indeks walkability guna mengetahui tingkat keterlayakan fasilitas pejalan kaki yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat keterlayakan berjalan kaki melalui perhitungan indeks walkability berdasarkan aspek kenyamanan, keamanan, aksesibilitas, dan kondisi fisik jalur pejalan kaki. Penilaian dilakukan dengan menggunakan indikator yang disesuaikan dengan standar fasilitas pejalan kaki menurut Peraturan Menteri PUPR No. 3 Tahun 2014 dan No. 07/P/BM/2023. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa indeks walkability koridor Jalan Dr. J. Leimena berada pada kategori sedang, yang berarti jalur pejalan kaki cukup mendukung aktivitas berjalan kaki namun belum sepenuhnya memenuhi kriteria ideal. Faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap skor indeks adalah lebar trotoar, kondisi permukaan, serta keberadaan hambatan seperti pedagang kaki lima. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran tingkat keterlayakan fasilitas pejalan kaki di koridor Jalan Dr. J. Leimena, yang dapat menjadi dasar evaluasi terhadap kualitas infrastruktur pejalan kaki di kawasan pendidikan Kota Ambon.
