ABSTRACTWork-life balance is an important aspect that contributes to employee well-being and productivity, particularly in the banking sector, which is characterized by high job demands, strict performance targets, and continuous service pressure. In such conditions, social support is considered one of the factors that can help employees manage work demands while maintaining balance between their professional and personal lives. This study aimed to examine the relationship between social support and work-life balance among employees of PT. X Bank in Surabaya. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 100 back-office employees selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a Social Support Scale and a Work-Life Balance Scale and were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test with SPSS version 27.0. The findings revealed that most respondents reported moderate levels of social support and work-life balance. The correlation analysis indicated a positive and significant relationship between social support and work-life balance (r = 0.210; p = 0.036). These results suggest that higher levels of social support are associated with a greater ability to maintain balance between work responsibilities and personal life. Although the strength of the relationship was relatively weak, social support remains an important factor in fostering work-life balance among employees in the banking sector.
ABSTRAKWork-life balance merupakan aspek penting yang berkontribusi terhadap kesejahteraan dan produktivitas karyawan, terutama pada sektor perbankan yang memiliki tuntutan kerja tinggi, target yang ketat, serta tekanan pelayanan yang berkelanjutan. Dalam kondisi tersebut, dukungan sosial dipandang sebagai salah satu faktor yang dapat membantu karyawan mengelola tuntutan pekerjaan dan kehidupan pribadinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan work-life balance pada staf Bank PT. X di Surabaya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 100 karyawan back office yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala dukungan sosial dan skala work-life balance, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menggunakan SPSS 27.0. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki tingkat dukungan sosial dan work-life balance pada kategori sedang. Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan work-life balance (r = 0,210; p = 0,036). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diterima karyawan, semakin baik kemampuan mereka dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara kehidupan kerja dan kehidupan pribadi. Meskipun kekuatan hubungan tergolong rendah, dukungan sosial tetap menjadi faktor yang berperan dalam mendukung terciptanya work-life balance pada karyawan sektor perbankan.
