Abstract

The rapid growth in the number of coffee shops is in line with the increase in domestic coffee consumption. This growth reflects competition in the world of the coffee industry. To remain relevant in the midst of competition, an application-based digital service is needed that simplifies the coffee ordering process. This research aims to design a user interface and evaluate the prototype design of a flexible and modular web-based digital coffee ordering application. The research focuses on user experience and the segmentation needs of the coffee market. The application design not only meets the needs of basic orders (takeaway, delivery, dine-in), but also supports advanced settings (manual brew and batch brew) as part of the research gap. The Design Thinking approach  is used to identify user needs, find innovations and evaluate the user experience through five stages: emphatize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The test was carried out using The Thinking Aloud and Hallway Testing methods  on 17 respondents with a sampling approach. The respondents have an age range of 17-20 years and are domiciled in Bogor and its surroundings with the most gender, namely men. This method was chosen because it is considered the most representative because it takes random users informally where users can be frank about their thoughts after trying to use the prototype design of the application. The test results showed that the app received a positive response, especially in terms of ease of navigation (? = 4.24) and visual design (? = 4.65). The advanced brew feature still needs improvement in terms of interface and user education (? = 3.65). This research shows that a user-based approach and modular features can add value to digital ordering systems for coffee shops.

ABSTRAK
Pertumbuhan jumlah kedai kopi yang pesat seiring dengan meningkatnya konsumsi kopi domestik. Pertumbuhan ini mencerminkan persaingan di dunia industri kopi. Untuk tetap relevan di tengah persaingan, diperlukan layanan digital berbasis aplikasi yang mempermudah proses pemesanan kopi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang antarmuka pengguna dan melakukan evaluasi terhadap desain prototype aplikasi pemesanan kopi digital berbasis web yang fleksible dan modular. Fokus penelitian pada pengalaman pengguna dan kebutuhan segmentasi pasar kopi. Rancangan aplikasi tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan pesanan dasar (takeaway, delivery, dine-in), namun juga mendukung pengaturan lanjutan (manual brew dan batch brew) sebagai bagian dari gap penelitian. Pendekatan Design Thinking digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pengguna, menemukan inovasi dan mengevaluasi pengalaman pengguna melalui lima tahapan: emphatize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode Thinking Aloud dan Hallway Testing terhadap 17 responden dengan pendekatan rendom sampling. Responden memiliki rentang usia 17-20 tahun dan berdomisili di Bogor dan sekitarnya dengan gender terbanyak yaitu laki-laki. Metode ini dipilih karena dianggap paling representatif karena mengambil pengguna acak secara informal dimana pengguna dapat berterus terang terhadap pemikirannya setelah mencoba menggunakan desain prototype aplikasi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan aplikasi mendapat respons positif, terutama dalam aspek kemudahan navigasi (? = 4,24) dan desain visual (? = 4,65). Fitur advanced brew masih membutuhkan penyempurnaan dari sisi antarmuka dan edukasi pengguna (? = 3,65). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan berbasis pengguna dan fitur modular dapat memberikan nilai tambah pada sistem pemesanan digital untuk kedai kopi.
