Listening and reading skills are part of learning English at the SMK level XII semester V. The students' listening and reading skills are still unsatisfactory and need to be improved. The research was conducted based on the CAR procedure which was divided into 2 cycles using a quantitative method. Research data collection was done through observation instruments, written tests. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by using the percentage technique to get information about things that happened in the learning process. Based on the observations of observers, students' attitudes, knowledge and listening and reading skills increased from the average category enough in the first cycle to the Good category in the second cycle, while for the written test students' knowledge of the average score of 77% in the first cycle to 80% in the first cycle. ABSTRAK
Kemampuan menyimak dan membaca merupakan bagian dari pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di jenjang pendidikan tingkat SMK kelas XII semester V. kemampuan menyimak dan membaca siswa juga masih kurang memuaskan dan perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan prosedur PTK yang terbagi dalam 2 siklus dengan menggunakan metode kuatitatif. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui instrument observasi, tes tertulis. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik persentase untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai hal hal yang terjadi dalam proses pelakasanaan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi pengamat, sikap, pengetahuan dan kemampuan menyimak dan membaca siswa meningkat dari kategori rata rata cukup pada siklus I menjadi kategori Baik pada siklus II, sedangkan untuk tes tertulis pengetahuan siswa pencapaian skor rata rata 77 % pada siklus I menjadi 80% pada siklus II.
