ABSTRACT
In the context of early childhood education, increasing learning enthusiasm remains a significant challenge due to the gap between children’s developmental needs and the instructional approaches commonly applied in practice. This study aims to develop a learning model based on the Asah, Asih, and Asuh pattern to increase learning enthusiasm among early childhood education (PAUD) students in Banyuwangi. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method by Borg & Gall and Sugiyono, the research follows a series of stages, including planning, preliminary field testing, major revisions, dissemination, implementation, operational testing, and final revision. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, such as school principals, curriculum developers, PAUD teachers, parents, and community representatives. The findings indicate that learning practices must align with students’ developmental needs, integrate meaningful experiential activities, and emphasize emotional nurturing through the Asah, Asih, and Asuh principles. The developed model was tested and refined through several stages, showing increased student engagement, motivation, social-emotional skills, and confidence. Teachers and parents responded positively, highlighting the model’s flexibility and relevance to children's diverse needs. The final model successfully fosters an inclusive learning environment, enhances learning enthusiasm, and strengthens collaboration between schools, families, and communities. Future research is recommended to conduct longitudinal and comparative studies to evaluate the long-term impact and broader applicability of the model.
