Abstract

ABSTRACT

The development of information technology has driven significant transformation in learning practices in the 21st century. The integration of Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom models is one of the effective strategies to answer the demands of more flexible, interactive and 21st century skills-based learning. This article aims to analyse the effectiveness of combining the two models in encouraging learners' active engagement and improving learning outcomes. The approach used in this research is a systematic literature study that reviews various scientific articles from the last five years. The results show that the integrative application of Blended Learning - which combines face-to-face and online learning - with Flipped Classroom - which flips the role of the classroom into a space for exploration after self-learning - can create a more flexible, interactive and learner-centred learning environment. In addition, this model has been shown to increase independence, responsibility for learning, and in-depth understanding of concepts. This article recommends that educators and education policy makers consider integrating these two approaches in curriculum planning and instructional design, to facilitate contextualised and adaptive learning to future challenges.
