ABSTRACT
Senior High School (SMA) students represent a strategic group of adolescents to be the main target of the Family Planning (FP) program, as they are in the preparatory stage for adult life. They have significant potential as information agents who can disseminate FP knowledge within their families and communities. Therefore, providing accurate and adequate information is essential to equip students in planning their future. This study aims to explore the perceptions of students at SMA Islam Athirah Bone regarding the provision of information about the FP program. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation for data collection. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that FP information can be effectively delivered through various media, such as counseling sessions, seminars organized by relevant institutions, and the integration of FP topics into Biology subjects. Academic channels are generally more easily understood and accepted by students. However, students’ active participation in FP-related social activities remains low. Most students feel they have not directly contributed, highlighting the need to enhance their involvement more actively and sustainably.
