DAMPAK PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL TIKTOK TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN IMAN REMAJA

ABSTRACT
Social media has become an inseparable part of adolescents’ lives, including the way they develop habits and interpret their spiritual life. Among eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Titehena, TikTok emerged as the most frequently used platform because it provides fast, varied, and easily accessible entertainment through personal devices. This situation has raised concerns regarding changes in adolescents’ religious behavior, particularly in maintaining worship discipline and participation in religious activities. This study explores how the use of TikTok influences adolescents’ faith development through a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through field observations, interviews, and documentation to gain a deeper understanding of students’ experiences and daily habits. The findings reveal that the intensity of TikTok use among students is relatively high, with most activities dominated by entertainment content. On the one hand, several students reported gaining spiritual motivation and moral messages from certain content they accessed. On the other hand, excessive use was associated with decreased prayer habits, reduced participation in religious activities, and weakened spiritual discipline in daily life. These findings indicate that social media does not always produce negative effects, but it requires consistent guidance from teachers and parents so that its use remains aligned with the spiritual development of adolescents.

Media sosial telah menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari kehidupan remaja, termasuk dalam cara mereka membangun kebiasaan dan memaknai kehidupan spiritual. Di kalangan siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Titehena, TikTok muncul sebagai platform yang paling sering digunakan karena menghadirkan hiburan yang cepat, variatif, dan mudah dijangkau melalui perangkat pribadi. Situasi ini memunculkan perhatian terhadap perubahan perilaku rohani remaja, terutama dalam menjaga kedisiplinan ibadah dan keterlibatan mereka dalam aktivitas keagamaan. Kajian ini menelusuri bagaimana penggunaan TikTok memengaruhi perkembangan iman remaja melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data diperoleh dengan menggabungkan observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sehingga pengalaman serta kebiasaan siswa dapat dipahami secara lebih mendalam. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan TikTok tergolong tinggi dan sebagian besar aktivitas penggunaannya didominasi oleh konten hiburan. Di satu sisi, beberapa siswa memperoleh motivasi spiritual dan pesan moral dari konten tertentu yang mereka akses. Namun, penggunaan yang berlebihan juga berkaitan dengan menurunnya kebiasaan berdoa, berkurangnya partisipasi dalam kegiatan rohani, serta melemahnya disiplin spiritual dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Fenomena tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media sosial tidak selalu berdampak negatif, tetapi memerlukan pendampingan yang konsisten dari guru dan orang tua agar penggunaannya tetap selaras dengan pembentukan iman remaja.
