HUBUNGAN SELF-EFFICACY DENGAN PENGAMBILAN KEPUTUSAN KARIER PADA SISWA SMA YAYASAN SEKOLAH KRISTEN INDONESIA (YSKI)

Self-efficacy, which refers to the belief in one's ability to face challenges, plays a significant role in students' career development, particularly in making decisions related to their future. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and career decision-making among students of Yayasan Sekolah Kristen Indonesia (YSKI) Senior High School in Semarang. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, the study involved 265 students from grades 10 to 12. The analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and career decision-making (r = 0.443, p = 0.000). The findings suggest that the higher the students' self-efficacy, the better their ability to make career decisions. This study contributes to filling a gap in the literature, as most previous studies have focused on public school students or final-year students, while this research focuses on private school students who are in the early stages of career exploration. The findings also emphasize the importance of efforts to enhance students' self-efficacy, enabling them to make more focused career decisions that align with their potential and future goals.
ABSTRAK
Self-efficacy, yaitu keyakinan diri terhadap kemampuan untuk menghadapi tantangan, memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam perkembangan karier siswa, khususnya dalam membuat keputusan yang berkaitan dengan masa depan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara self-efficacy dan pengambilan keputusan karier pada siswa SMA Yayasan Sekolah Kristen Indonesia (YSKI) Semarang. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain korelasional, penelitian ini melibatkan 265 siswa dari kelas 10 hingga 12. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-efficacy dan pengambilan keputusan karier (r = 0,443, p = 0,000). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi self-efficacy siswa, semakin baik kemampuan mereka dalam membuat keputusan karier. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dengan mengisi kesenjangan dalam literatur, yang sebelumnya lebih banyak berfokus pada siswa di sekolah negeri atau kelas akhir, sementara penelitian ini meneliti siswa di sekolah swasta yang berada dalam tahap awal eksplorasi karier. Temuan ini juga menekankan pentingnya upaya untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa agar mereka dapat membuat keputusan karier yang lebih terarah dan sesuai dengan potensi serta tujuan masa depan mereka.
