Job happiness plays an important role in employee success and productivity; however, many young workers experience low levels of happiness. One factor that can support job happiness is online social support, given the high usage of digital media among younger generations. This study aims to examine the effect of online social support on job happiness among young workers in Indonesia and the role of gender in differences in job happiness. Using a quantitative approach and a survey of 222 young workers in Yogyakarta, regression analysis results showed that online social support significantly affects job happiness (R² = 0.124, p < 0.001), with male employees reporting higher job happiness levels than female employees. This study emphasizes the importance of developing digital social support strategies in human resource management, though it has limitations in its cross-sectional approach, which does not allow for in-depth causal analysis, and geographical limitations. Future research is suggested to use a qualitative approach or longitudinal design.
